As mentioned above , individualized learning has been in operation for about ten years . It was begun in small pilot projects but , by now , thousands of children learn successfully by this method . Up to now , the learning material has been prepared for the first seven grades in few subjects : reading comprehension , arithmetic , geometry , spelling and Bible . Individualized learning could be extended to cover more age groups and more subjects even up to the twelfth grade ( matriculation ) . The burden of these notes is to plead for such an extension over the next decade or two .
