iv • Making Women’s Invisible Work Visible in every group in society, but is deeper among Israeli - Palestinians compared to Jews . Institutional characteristics – especially employment in the public sector – may promote gender equality in the performance of invisible work in the domestic sphere . The group interviews revealed that women – and to a cer tain extent men as well – • perform diverse kinds of invisible work at their workplaces in addition to their invisible work at home . Invisible work at the workplace is divided into work that is intergal to one’s job and work that is unrelated to the job . The former may include maintaining social relationships at work and enhancing its familial atmosphere ( practices named here as “familization” ) , for instance, through the collection of money and purchesing of gifts for employees’ birthdays, organizing holyday celebrations, maintaining an aesthetic work environment, and emotional work, such as suppor ting colleagues .
