Though this educated workforce maintains a positive spillover effect on society at large, it hardly constitutes a potential for entry into Hi­Tech industries . Knowledge­oriented industries' value added far ex­ ceeds the traditional labour and capital intensive kibbutz manu­ facturing industries . Results indicate that not a single measure of economic success is positively correlated with the proportion of engineers and practical engineers within the workforce . Pilot tests aimed at more specific industrial populations such as plas­ tics and metal that generally constitute the bulk of kibbutz in­ dustrial plants show similar results .
