Synopsis The perception of the kibbutz as a society immune to delinquent behavior draws upon a long list of traditional social theories ( for a review of various criminological theories , see Shoham , Rahav and Adad , 2004 ) . Common to all of them is an assumption that in a community maintaining a closed social setup based on primary relationships , egalitarianism in the accessibility of means considered legitimate , acting through social supervision based on robust social cohesion , the proportion of delinquent behavior will be extremely low . The collected studies presented in this book depict diverse kinds of rehabilitation and supervision programs operating in the kibbutz alongside delinquent behaviors such as property offences , domestic violence , sex crimes and offences perceived as seemingly minor , such as traffic and computer-related misdemeanors .
